Fruitvale, B.C. June 15, 2017 – Winners of the 2017 All-Canadian Wine Championships were announced last week and SOAHC Estate Wines is pleased to announce gold medals for both the 2016 vintage Chardonnay and Riesling.
The All Canadian Wine Champions included more than 1400 entries for 2017, with entries up almost 25% versus 2016.
These awards are particularly special to SOAHC General Manager Jamie Fochuk as the 2016 vintage was the first to be produced at the new SOAHC winery facilities. The biodynamic farm faced some challenges last year with unique and unexpected weather conditions and active wildlife around the vineyard.
“We truly appreciate this recognition within the Canadian industry. Our goal as a biodynamic vineyard is to produce a high quality wine that reflects the natural amenities of the Columbia Valley,” stated Fochuk.
“We are also thrilled that our first year of production at the SOAHC winery was award-winning.”
In addition to the gold medals at the All-Canadian Wine Championships, SOACH’s 2016 Riesling also received a silver medal at the Okanagan Wine Festival’s “Best in BC Wine Varietals” which took place in May.
SOAHC Estate Wines is extremely proud to have been recognized throughout the industry since their first vintage released in 2014.
