SOAHC Estate Wines was one of just nine “artisanal” wineries invited to participate in an intimate wine tasting event at the Wildebeest Restaurant.
Attending the event were up to 80 of Canada’s and Vancouver’s top food and wine critics, wine buyers and sommeliers, all hoping to have a chance to get to know BC’s finest small wine producers.
In its inaugural year attending this event, SOAHC Estate Wines received an extremely favourable response from attendees. Below are the tasting notes from John Schreiner, Canada’s most prolific writers of book on wines. Schreiner graded both SOACH’s 2015 vintage Riesling and Chardonnay a 90.
SOAHC Riesling 2014 Tangy and dry on the finish, this wine has already begun to develop the classic marmalade – if you wish- notes on the nose and palate. It has flavours of lime and grapefruit, with good weight.
SOAHC Chardonnay 2014 This wine has aromas and flavours of citrus and apple with the buttery notes from partial malolactic fermentation and subtle oak. The finish is crisp and refreshing.
