After 5 years of land preparation using the biodynamic principles, the task of planting of the vines began. SOAHC’s vines originate from France and Germany. After clearing customs and their quarantine, the vines were treated to a natural biodynamic process of root trimming and manure soak to stimulate growth. Then each hole was dug by hand, the plant also gently placed in the hole by hand and then watered several times a week. An irrigation system was also laid, as well as posts and wires set to guide the growing vines. Regular applications of biodynamic preparations and weeding are part of the on-going maintenance of the vineyard.
